Vintage Tearoom Sampler - Embroidered Wall Hanging
1990's Hand sewn Tearoom Sampler
Professionally mounted and framed

Solid wood frame. Made by K. Payne in 1992.
The sampler features an old fashioned handled teapot on a black trivet with a sprig of foliage either side with a small of white flowers. The alphabet which is divided over 4 lines (with other input between each), is all in upper case in a dark burnt red colour. Under the teapot reads
"Love and scandal are the best sweeteners of tea"
in green threaded embroidery.
It also reads
"ENGLISH BREAKFAST ROSEHIP RUSSIAN CARAVAN GUNPOWDER LAPSANG SOUCHONG DARJEELING"
"ORANGE PEKOE EARL GREY FORMOSA OOLONG CHAMOLINE JASMINE PRINCE OF WALES YUNNAN"
each over two lines embroidered in a dusty pink thread, which I believe to all be flavours of tea. It also has a light green cross stitch line of little teapots Initialed "KP 1992"
Frame - measured 2.25 cm wide. Measures 46.5 cm high x 42 cm wide x 2 cm depth.
Inner frame - The inner cream frame is 5.5 cm wide the a breville double inner edge with a dome shape top with the inner ledge highlighted in a dusty pink matching the thread used for the various sorts of tea.
Sampler measured 30.5 cm high x 24 cm wide.
Condition - Very good vintage condition.
